Cheer Universe is an innovative competitive cheerleading series with one simple goal: to reward hard work, dedication, and proficiency within the sport of cheerleading.

 

Cheer Universe was founded in 2013 by serial entrepreneur and social activist Michael G. Thomas.  Mr. Thomas, having spent several years in close proximity to cheerleading contests, quickly became frustrated with their norm:

 

"Cheerleading is a very demanding sport that requires large amounts of preparation, training, and rehearsal.  I would attend a typcial cheer contest and be amazed that the production company charged its participants to perform.  And after their hard and dedication, their only reward was a trophy or medal.  While it is nice to receive these items, the rewards were not useful in each team's quest to build their program.  A medal or trophy doesn't buy new uniforms, safety equipment, or provide marketing to reach out to new cheerleaders.  I was completely dismayed to watch cheer teams struggle while the production companies enriched themselves.  On a personal level, I believe this practice to be unethical and unfair, so I wholeheartedly embraced the challenge of creating a new paradigm in the Cheer Universe."

 

 

The Cheer Universe Difference

Cheer Universe is designed to reward cheer teams who pursue excellence.  To accomplish this, Cheer Universe does two unmatched things:

 

1. We never require a cheer team or cheearleader to pay to compete

2. We offer lucrative cash awards in addition to trophies and medals

 

We believe these practices of financially assisting and rewarding cheer teams will maximize their opportunities to grow and develop their respective programs.  This result is the only possible method for competitive cheerleading to grow and remain an athletic force for many years to come.  Through these efforts, cheer teams will be able to reach out to participants who may not have otherwise been given the opportunity.
